Projects

Our first short film project, 'Living With Sickle Cell' was written, produced and directed by Justina and she also played the character 'Kemi'. The project was made for viewing at the 'Gideon's Treasure Gala' in collaboration with the Dumebi London fashion week show (by Justina's sister and sickle cell warrior Barbara Biosah), and sickle cell awareness month in September 2022. The project and the gala was in honour of Justina and Barbara's uncle Gideon, who died from complications due to sickle cell in 2011.

Our second short film project, 'Phoenix Rising' was also a project to shine a light on sickle cell. This time instead of using actors we used real sickle cell warriors to hear their stories. Justina once again partnered with her sister Barbara and the DUMEBI brand and Gideon's Treasure podcast team to shine a light on 3 women in the fashion and entertainment industry. Sadly a few months after filming one of the sickle cell warriors, 'Aisatu Bedford King' passed away at just 25 years old. Justina submitted the short film to the Cannes film festival and it was accepted and debuted on May 22nd inside the Palais. The film was dedicated ti Aisatu.
